Medical Air Plant
The medical compressed air plant is used to continuously produce and provide medical compressed air for patient ventilation, anesthetic gas scavenging systems (AGSS), surgical instruments and for pneumatic brakes of ceiling supply units.
The rooms containing the compressed air plant must be located in an area that is not used for medical purposes. The room temperature must be between 10 °C and 40 °C. A consistent temperature inside the rooms is important to ensure correct functioning of the compressed air conditioning units and to avoid condensation inside the pipeline system or other
components.
All components of the compressed air plant must be connected to the emergency power supply. If the health-care facility is planned to be extended beyond the original design of the compressed air plant, it must be checked whether the current system capacity is sufficient for the planned extension
